YOGA FOR GOLFERS

In this 4 week program you will learn yoga postures specifically designed for Golfers. Practice will focus on stretches that will help increase flexibility, strength, balance and help reduce the risk of injury that plague many Golfers.  This program will be lead by Alan Mileham (E-RYT 500 & YACEP) with Yoga Alliance, USA. Alan has been teaching Yoga classes in Calgary, along with Yoga Trainings and Yoga Workshops since 2001. He has specialized courses in Yoga For Golfers, and is an avid Golfer, RCGA member, and a member of Redwood Meadows Golf Club.  Alan is a Certified Yoga For Golfers Instructor, having completed Level 1 of the Teacher Training Program in 2004 with the founder of YFG, Katherine Roberts. and he completed Level 2 in April 2012 with Katherine Roberts. Katherine Roberts is a frequent contributor on the Golf Channel and various Golf & Fitness Magazines. Alan looks forward to bringing you the best sports specific user friendly Yoga class designed entirely for Golfers. WALL YIN WORKSHOP

Wall Yin is a series of Yin Yoga postures using the Wall as a prop to effectively increase or decrease the level of stress (tension/compression) in the target area of the particular posture. During this 3 hour workshop, Alan will review and demonstrate approximately 40 variations of Wall Yin postures covering the major target areas of the body. Each participant will receive a detailed manual including photos of each posture variation. The workshop will conclude with a Wall Yin Yoga class. *PLEASE NOTE, Wall Space will limit this workshop to 30 participants.

You will learn different practices to calm the mind, focus the mind, open the mind, and ultimately catalyze the transcending of mind. Additionally, you will learn how to track your progress and see how each of the techniques are affecting you so you can start to see the many benefits meditation has to offer. Conversation on the interactions of the solar plexus and heart chakras, as well as intention setting, tender exploration of asana, pranayama, devotional drills and courageous play will culminate in a vinyasa practice in which you can flow with your heart delightfully grounded in your hands.

The workshop starts with some simple visualization exercises that that trigger the right part of the brain. This is the part where all our memories, intuition, and emotions are stored. It's also the part that is connected to our higher self. Marije will guide the group through these different exercises that will eventually open the door to a past life.
