Dr. Laurel Stuart [ RMT + TCM ]

Laurel’s love of alternative medicine stems from her almost lifelong quest for better health. Diagnosed a diabetic before the age of 10, Laurel started to explore yoga in her teens as a tool for maintaining vitality and longevity. In 2004 she certified in Forrest yoga, a highly therapeutic form of yoga practice. She credits her yoga with keeping her healthy. Her practice has also enabled her to ‘walk the path of spirit’, a path that lead her to Calgary in 2010 to study Traditional Chinese Medicine and massage. A licensed acupuncturist and massage therapist, Laurel enjoys combining the health benefits of acupuncture, Chinese herbal therapy, massage and yoga. She is dedicated towards the well-being of her clients through a patient centered approach to health in which she aims to help her clients create and maintain optimal health, primarily by helping them manage stress and alleviate pain. Laurel defines herself as a seeker-a seeker of healing. Her life revolves around healing, and the underlying theme of her life’s purpose seeks to answer the question, “how can I use this moment to bring more vitality, energy and healing to my life, and to the lives of those around me?” Laurel is a member of the College and Association of Acupuncturists of Alberta (CAAA), the National Health Practitioners of Canada (NHPC) and The International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT). When not working, or on her mat upside down, Laurel can be found studying, exploring crafts or learning a new funky dance.
